Who came up with this idea?
About Me
My name is Jesús Pérez Gracia, and I studied optics to understand my poor vision.

After graduating with my Master's, I joined an intraocular lens company in Spain while pursuing my Industrial PhD. Four years later, I realized I had never worked as an optometrist, so I spent 12 months as a Store Manager and Optometrist at an optical shop.

An opportunity to rejoin the intraocular lens industry in the UK came my way, and I said yes, knowing it would open new doors. After two years in the UK, I switched industries and countries but stayed within the field of optics.

Currently, I work with cameras for the automotive industry in Ireland, testing image quality. It’s a crucial aspect, especially for cameras used in autonomous vehicles. Cameras are now the eyes of the car! This role focuses more on photonics than optic design.

I love it and it confirms the vast opportunities the optics industry offers.

The Mission
Now that you know a bit about me, let's focus on the mission. Whether you're a Recruiter, Talent Acquisition Specialist, or simply need the best candidate for your company within the Optics Industry, I'm here to make your hiring process easier.

If you're still reading this and you're not a Recruiter, you must be a professional within the Optics Industry—maybe a Dispensing Optician, Optometrist, or Optical Engineer?
Good news, I can help you too.

A Solution: The Multifocal Network
Throughout my career, I've consistently heard from Human Resources departments that finding candidates with the right skills is incredibly challenging.

But here's the thing: there are many of us working in the Optics Industry. So why aren't companies finding the right candidates?

The traditional methods of seeking candidates are outdated. Companies post job ads (on LinkedIn, InfoJobs, their websites, etc.) and wait for applications. This approach only reaches a small pool of potential candidates. If you're a candidate, it's even worse—you spend hours and weeks searching and applying for jobs (and modifying your CV for each application).

So, why not flip the system?

How the Multifocal Network Works?
Instead of posting jobs, candidates post their profiles, highlighting their skills and biggest assets. Companies can then search, filter, and contact candidates directly on demand. This is essentially a reverse job board—welcome to the Multifocal Network.
